Genital aesthetic operations are surgical operations that eliminate sagging and deformities that occur in the vaginal area for various reasons.

Vaginal aesthetics are increasingly demanded worldwide. The successful results of the operations and the fact that there are almost no patients who are not satisfied with the result of the surgery increase the demand for the procedures.

Vaginal aesthetic operations in Turkey, which consist of alternatives such as labiolasty, clitoropexy, vaginoplasty and hymen repair, are very effective in eliminating psychological and functional victimization as well as improving the appearance.

Women’s dissatisfaction with their genital areas for various reasons; While triggering feelings such as insecurity, timidity and shyness, it also causes situations such as sexual reluctance, inability to get pleasure from sexuality and poor communication between couples. Dissatisfaction, especially with the shape of the inner or outer lips, often causes women not to want to wear clothes such as bikinis, tight pants or tights, and when they do, they do not feel comfortable.

Reasons for Genital Deformation

Birth, advancing age, various gynecological surgeries and congenital genetic characteristics are the main factors that trigger genital deformities.

• Congenital asymmetry of the labia minora or other asymmetrical deformities,
• The inner lips are longer or larger for genetic reasons,
• Loss of structure, elasticity and enlargement of the vagina due to multiple births,
• Incisions made outside the vagina during a difficult birth can reduce sexual pleasure,
• Incontinence or sexual dysfunction due to prolapse of the bladder or rectum,
• Problems such as insufficient fullness of the outer lips can be eliminated by operations within vaginoplasty.

Genital Aesthetic Types

With vaginal aesthetic operation, deformations such as sagging in vaginal lips and colour changes can be eliminated and urinary problems due to sagging in urinal region can be resolved.

• Labiaplasty: One of the most common genital cosmetic problem is sagging or large labia. When inner labia fails to cover labia majora, although there is no problem in terms of health, there is problems related with aesthetic look. This may be congenital or this can be caused by gaining and losing weight or child birth.
• Labia majora aesthetic: This is applied when labia majora have deformation or saggy look. This could be congenital or caused by being underweighted. This operation can be made under general or local anaesthesia. Fat collected from patient’s body is injected to labia majora to achieve fuller look.
• Vaginoplasty: Vaginoplasty is often preferred to increase sexual pleasure. Tightening the vagina increases sexual pleasure of both women and men. Vaginoplasty is applied under general anaesthesia and takes one hour. Patients are discharged on the same day. After the operation, patients should be extra careful about hygiene. Patients must avoid sexual intercourse for 6 weeks after the surgery.
• Hymenoplasty: This is an operation to repair hymen. Hymenoplasty is possible unless hymen pieces are intact. If the patient had multiple sexual intercourse or gave child birth, this operation cannot be applied since it is not possible to find the pieces.

Areas Where External Genital Area Aesthetics are Applied

External genital area aesthetics are divided into three classes according to the areas of intervention: Reduction of the labia minora (labiaplasty), augmentation of the labia minora and pubis aesthetics.

• Reduction of the labia minora (Labiaplasty): It is a branch of aesthetic surgery that can be applied to women over the age of 18 who have vaginal aesthetic concerns. Since the hymen is 3-4 cm further inside the intervention area, there is no damage during surgery. Therefore, it can also be applied to virgin women. The operation, which is performed during the period outside the menstrual period, takes about 40 minutes under general anesthesia. You can return to your daily routine 1 week after the operation, which does not leave any incision or surgery.
• Plumping of the outer lips: It is an operation applied with filling or fat injection. It is the process of removing the sagging and wrinkling of the outer lips caused by genetics or excessive weakness by plumping them sufficiently. Ideal fullness is the appearance where the inner lips are covered by the outer lips. The surgery is performed under local anesthesia and can also be performed under general anesthesia if preferred. The first choice in this operation is to inject the person’s own fat tissue, usually taken from the belly area, into the outer lips.
• Pubis aesthetics: The pubis area is popularly known as the bikini area or the hill of Venus. The fact that the pubis area is more raised, large and voluminous can cause problems by disrupting the aesthetic appearance in clothes such as tights. In order to eliminate these problems, the process of removing fat from the pubis area with liposuction is pubis aesthetics.

Areas Where Internal Genital Area Aesthetics are Applied

Internal genital area aesthetics are divided into two classes according to the areas of intervention: Hymenoplasty (hymenoplasty) and vaginoplasty (vaginal tightening)

• Hymenoplasty (Hymenoplasty): It is the process of re-sewing the torn hymen.
• Vaginoplasty (Vaginoplasty): It is a surgical application performed to eliminate the loosening of the muscles of the vagina due to normal childbirth, loss of tissue elasticity caused by age progression and sometimes structural reasons.
