Breast lift is a surgical operation that makes the breasts, which have lost their upright and firm structure due to various reasons, more aesthetic. Sagging breasts are a problem for many women and can also cause problems such as insecurity and depression. Breast structure loses its vitality and erectness over time due to reasons such as breastfeeding, aging and genetic characteristics. This is a problem that no woman wants to experience.
Women who are satisfied with their breast size but have sagging problems often feel uncomfortable about their appearance. It is observed that many women, whose self-confidence decreases due to sagging breast structure, have problems with their husbands as well as their social lives and avoid partnerships.
Women with sagging breasts are suitable candidate profiles for breast lift operations. Breast sagging is classified in 3 stages. In the first stage, the nipple is at the level of the inframammary groove. In the second stage, the nipple is below the inframammary groove, and in the third stage, the nipple is at the lowest border of the breast tissue and looks down.
In breast lift surgeries, the nipple is reshaped according to the patient’s needs. Excess skin that causes sagging in the breasts is removed, giving the breasts an aesthetic appearance. Considering the needs of the patient, breast reduction or breast augmentation procedures supported by silicone implants can also be combined with the lift operation.
Before the breast lift operation, the patient who has a sagging problem should clearly state her expectations to the doctor who will perform the operation.
In the breast lift operation, it should be determined before the operation whether the nipple area will be treated or not.
It is of great importance to perform the necessary examinations before the breast operation. Breast ultrasound and mammography are performed for the patient who will undergo the operation.
Blood thinners such as aspirin etc. should be stopped one week before the surgery.
Alcohol and smoking should be stopped before breast lift surgery.
The patient should stop eating 6 hours before the operation
The operated person will be discharged after one day of observation in hospital.
If breast augmentation surgery has also been performed, it may be difficult to open the arms for a short time.
It is normal to experience mild pain after the operation.
The patient can return to routine work after 7-14 days.
